STEP 1:

Navigate to the ‘Marketplace’. You can find the link to it at the top of the site.

STEP 2:

Scroll through the Marketplace and find an advert you like, and believe would fit your niche. You can filter results using the drop-down menu at the top of the page to only include adverts, and to narrow down categories, points, and date published.

STEP 3:

Once you’ve found an advert you like, click the ‘Promote’ button. This will take you to the campaign’s page, where you can view its content.

STEP 4:

Click the big green ‘Post for [X] Points’ button.

STEP 5:

A pop-up will appear on your screen giving you three options - get code, add to existing ad set, or create new ad set.

To find out how to go about adding an advert to your website, continue to Step 6.

To find out how to create a new ad set for this advert, continue to Step 11.

And to find out how to add this advert to an already-existing ad set, continue to Step 14.

If you have no idea what any of this means, we’ll explain what each of these options entail in the upcoming steps.

STEP 6:

The ‘Get Code’ option will give you a line of code you can put on any website, and it will display the ad banner where you put it.

To do this, click on the ‘Get Code’ button and copy the line of code shown to you on screen.

STEP 7:

Now that you’ve got that code copied, head over to your website. For the purpose of this tutorial, I’m going to be using a WordPress blog, as that’s what Traffic Ivy uses most. If your site isn’t on WordPress, there are still ways to add the advert to your site’s code, which you can find online.

To add it to WordPress, go to the theme customisation part of your site and select ‘Widgets’ from the sidebar.

STEP 8:

You can then choose whereabouts on your site you want to display the advert, whether it’s on the sidebar, footer, header, or really wherever you want. Just make sure to consider the size of the banner you’ve chosen to display, and make sure it looks good with the rest of your site.

STEP 9:

Once you’ve decided whereabouts on your website you want the banner to go, select that corresponding button (e.g., Footer Sidebar 1). Click the ‘Add Widget’ button, and select ‘Custom HTML’.

STEP 10:

Then, all you have to do is paste that code into the box, and make sure to save your changes.

Once you’ve done that, check your website to make sure it looks good and is working alright. And you’re done!

STEP 11:

Before you create a new Ad Set, I’ll briefly let you know what an Ad Set is. Basically, it is a set of ads you can put on your site which will rotate. This is good because you can use the same space on your site to display many ads, on a rotating basis.

Alright, so now you can click the ‘Create New Ad Set’ button.

STEP 12:

Then you’ll have to choose the name of your Ad Set and type it into the correct box. You don’t have to change anything in the ‘Ad Set Size’ box, as that should automatically be the same size as the ad you’re promoting. Once you’ve got a name typed in, click ‘Create Ad Set’.

STEP 13:

You can then select the correct ad set out of the Select Ad Set options, and click ‘Add Ad to Selected Ad Set’. Then skip to Step 15.

STEP 14:

If you’ve decided to go with the ‘Add to Existing Ad Set’ option, you can add this advert to one of your ad sets, where it will rotate with the other ads in that set.

If you don’t have any existing or fitting ad sets, follow Steps 11-13.

Once you click the ‘Add to Existing Ad Set’, select the ad set you’re wanting and then click ‘Add Ad to Selected Ad Set’, then continue to the next step.

STEP 15:

You will then be able to get the code for that ad set by pressing the ‘Get Code’ button..

You can then follow the same steps that you would to add an individual advert code to your website. Follow Steps 6-10 for these instructions.

STEP 16:

You should now be done promoting your advert! Feel free to double check that it’s showing up correctly on your blog, then continue posting and promoting on Traffic Ivy.
